Hi. I’m Mark and I’m an adult cello student.

I have always wanted to play the cello and in November 2009 I finally took the plunge and started taking lessons. Playing cello is now a part of my daily routine. Except when travel prevents me from taking my cello with me, I play every day.

I find the simularities between music and programming fascinating. Computer programming is part art and part science, making music as it turns out is much the same. The logic behind scales and chords and music theory is wonderful stuff. The beauty in the ringing sound when you play something perfectly in tune is art.

My hope for this site is to capture my thoughts and experiences as I explore the world as a musician.
